Together we can...support and develop confidence and perseverance to succeed.

Bio

I have worked at Mayflower for many years and am delighted to be part of the Year 6 team, supporting pupils during their final year of primary school. I am passionate about helping children develop the confidence, skills, and independence they need to be successful, not only in Year 6 but also as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.

I enjoy working closely with pupils, families, and colleagues to create a positive and supportive learning environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to achieve their very best. I understand that Year 6 can be both exciting and challenging, and I take pride in helping children navigate this important stage with confidence and resilience.

A key part of my role is providing targeted support to help pupils make progress in their learning, build their self-belief, and develop effective learning habits. I am particularly passionate about encouraging children to become independent learners who are willing to challenge themselves, persevere when faced with difficulties, and take pride in their achievements.

Alongside academic support, I place great importance on pupils' wellbeing and the friendships they build throughout their final year at primary school. Helping children develop positive relationships, work collaboratively, and grow in maturity is one of the most rewarding aspects of my role. I also enjoy taking part in our weekly CPD sessions, which enable me to continually develop my skills and enhance the support I provide to pupils and families.

It is a privilege to play a part in preparing children for the next stage of their educational journey and to see them leave Mayflower as confident, capable, and ambitious young people.

Why Mayflower?

Mayflower to me has always felt like a family. I started many years ago and every year there is something new and exciting to get involved in.

What I am reading?

I love nothing more than sitting down of an evening with a good book and a hot drink and immersing myself in the storyline.

What am I Researching?

I value the opportunity to take part in our weekly CPD sessions, which enable me to enhance my teaching and stay informed of current research.
