Pupil Safe Council

We have been working with pupils and parents from across our school to develop Safeguarding awareness.

The Family Support Advisors host weekly breakfast meetings with the 'Stay Safe' council. Children who attend learn how a council works, each taking responsibility to fulfil different council roles.

Children are encouraged to discuss current trends, to share how they can be safe in different situations, online and in person.

The Stay Safe council enjoys welcoming guest speakers, developing interview questions for experts and professionals.

This variety of experiences enables pupils to become safety ambassadors at school, role-modelling 'Stay Safe' behaviour to their peer groups. These children will represent Mayflower and have a voice in how are school develops and continually improves its safety culture.
