"Together we can...inspire the artist within."

Bio

Before joining Mayflower, whenever I visited, I always left inspired. I knew that this was an environment I could thrive in, developing my own teaching practice in a supportive community whilst developing my role as a leader. Staff here are encouraged to take risks and question what they do, thus striving to provide pupils with the high-quality education they deserve.

I began my journey at Mayflower as a HLTA for a number of years, before taking a secondment in another local Learning Academy Trust school, completing my NQT year. I returned to Mayflower after 18 months, in my new role of Phase Leader, Art Lead and Art subject facilitator for the Learning Academy Trust.

Outside of school, I enjoy being creative, delving into different types of arts and crafts. I enjoy taking my watercolours to the sea, listening to the waves as I try to create what I see in front of me. I also enjoy bullet journaling and the creative aspect of it. It gives me time to sit and reflect on the day and look ahead at what's to come.

Why Mayflower?

I am surrounded by the most inspiring leaders, staff and families. This gives me the grounding to go and play with learning. To use my skills to quietly, but confidently inspire others. I am certain that Mayflower is a school like no other.

What I am reading?

Since I was little, I have enjoyed reading stories and visiting the library to find new books. I enjoy books that I can immerse myself in, full of interesting characters and plot lines. Adventure, mystery, magical, mythical or romance… I enjoy them all.

What am I Researching?

As Mayflower's Art Leader, and Learning Academies Trust Art Subject Facilitator, I'm constantly studying the most impactful ways to both develop skills and knowledge, but also apply them with creative approaches. My passion is linking with artists.
