Together we can...create leadership and learning good enough to share

Bio

I observe lessons in school every day and tune into why something works. I am an ideas person, I often go off my gut, but can also root my observations in research. I notice and capture the impact of Teaching on Learning (vice versa). I aim to empower others to consciously do so too. My passion is curating learning. I am focused on empowering pupils, parents and staff to use our spaces to link with experts and develop their ideas.

I aim to facilitate families to develop their talents and interests. I aim to develop an incredible curriculum and community offer. One that we will remember forever. One that encourages us to become leaders and contributors of change. One that develops leadership qualities in others that are good enough to share.

I am obsessed with process. I believe that this is where the real magic in learning hides. My favourite current phrase that exemplifies this is, 'Show me your sweat not just your six-pack'. I seek out opportunities for collaboration between cross industry experts and seek both challenge and support partners. I love learning. I love new ideas that make me think differently. What ideas do you have? I would love to hear them.

Why Mayflower?

From the moment the school opened its doors in 2009, I knew that Mayflower could become something very special. Its innovative culture makes it the place to be.

What I am reading

I am an avid reader of theory. I also take time to read about design and innovation. I am currently reading 'The Forecast' magazine by Monocle.

What am I Researching?

I seem to always have projects on the go. I am researching how the SOI model of learning impacts on our ability to deepen understanding.
