Together we can...develop confident learners.

Bio

I am proud to be an experienced member of the Year 6 team, supporting pupils through one of the most important stages of their primary education. Over the years, I have developed extensive experience in helping children prepare for the academic, social, and emotional challenges of their final year at primary school, ensuring they feel confident and ready for the transition to secondary school.

I am passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential and enjoy working closely with pupils, teachers, and families to create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment. I take pride in helping children develop confidence, resilience, and independence, encouraging them to take ownership of their learning and believe in their abilities.

A key aspect of my role is supporting pupils as they prepare for SATs and the move to secondary school. I work closely with children to address gaps in learning, build their confidence in core subjects, and equip them with the skills they need to be successful learners. I also recognise the importance of supporting children’s emotional wellbeing during this period of change and enjoy helping pupils develop positive friendships, strong communication skills, and the confidence to embrace new opportunities.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is watching children grow into mature, capable, and independent young people during their time in Year 6. I am committed to continually developing my own practice and value the opportunity to participate in our weekly CPD sessions, which enable me to enhance my knowledge, share effective strategies with colleagues, and provide the highest quality support for every child.

Being part of each pupil’s journey towards secondary school is a privilege, and I am dedicated to helping them leave Mayflower with happy memories, lasting friendships, and the confidence to succeed in the next stage of their education.
