Intro
Hi Ewa (pronounced EVA as in However), it is so wonderful to see you. Mr. Sammels tells us that you are the most talented artist who sees things others don't. You spot details in life that mean something new when they are pointed out. You are a historian, and we are keen to learn from you. Welcome to Mayflower. Let's get started.
Q1
You are an artist who sees things others miss. How have you learnt to do this, and where did your attention to detail come from?
Q2
Who has inspired you as an artist and why?
Q3
What does good art look like? What does bad art look like?
Q4
You have run a workshop on colour. How do you think this workshop went and what did you learn?
Q5
Some people we meet tell us that children spend too much time in front of screens and not enough time going on adventures in the real world. What top tips have you got for us as children to stay creative and live as artists like you?
Q6
When you were younger, what did you like to do at school and if you could go back to school again, what would you like to learn and why?
Q7
You know so much about the history of Plymouth. How do you learn so fast, and how do you plot your historical findings on your models and timelines?
Q8
We hear that you studied at a top university. What did you learn about art, and what could we do to study and be like you?
Q9
We think that you are a collector of stuff that you find interesting. How do you know what to collect and what to leave behind - for example, on a beach? How do you organise your thinking?
Q10
We are learning about the process of learning called generative learning. This is where you select things, organise them and make new ideas and learning from this process. You do this - you select scraps of things - even ideas - and then you represent them, organising them for ideas to flourish. Where di you learn to do this? It is very impressive.
Q11
Your studio is based in the glorious Royal William Yard. We have visited the yard to interview WWA Construction. It was such a unique and beautiful place to interview people. It must bring you such inspiration. Do you think that beautiful spaces make a difference to how well you can learn and if so, what makes a beautiful space to you?
Outro
Well, that was just fantastic. You are clearly very inspiring Ewa. Thank you for giving us your time, and we hope that we have inspired you as well. Perhaps one day we could create a workshop with you all about spotting details in things. Thank you for inspiring us. We wish you a wonderful holiday - please come and see us again and remember, Together we can...
